Project Name: LIH General Radiographic System

Project Background: A Digital General Radiographic System adds high resolution digital detectors to an x-ray system which is made up of a table, overhead x-ray tube, and wall stand. The wall stand is a vertical table that allows x-rays to be taken while the patient is in an upright position. The digital detectors are located beneath the surface of the table and/or wall stand. When the x-ray is taken, the image is immediately displayed on a computerized console for review before being sent directly to the Picture Archiving and Communication System network. These projects include renovation costs and will be replacing a 2003 model in the Medical Imaging department at Lillooet Hospital. 

Project Scope: To install a new complete digital Radiographic System in the LIH General Rad Room that includes a new table, overhead X-ray tube and wall stand. Also to include Patient lift and supply and install. 

  • Supply and Install of replacement general radiographic system with a Full Auto Digital General Radiographic System c/w table, ceiling mounted tube and wall stand (Bucky). 
  • Removal and disposal of existing 2003 Dell 525 System. 
  • Staff training on the new equipment will be provided from the equipment budget. Provide by Vender. 
  • To remove existing millwork, replace with shorter new Millwork both uppers and Lowers, including patching and painting of space. Or agreed alternate solution. 
  • To install new Data drops/RJ45 as per requirements of the new Radiographic System and in accordance with IMIT Communications Infrastructure Standards and Specifications. 
  • Existing flooring is to be replaced with New. 
  • Repair, patch, and paint walls as required by the changes with removal of existing and installation of new equipment. 
  • Include installation of wall-to-wall structure steel hangers for new Gantry Lift, and supply and install new lift. Weight to be determined by Clinical. 
  • Review of existing Mechanical Duct systems against new equipment Alter as required for new equipment. 
  • Review of existing Electrical systems against new equipment upgrade as needed and to make better workflow and area. Relocate Main Isolation Switch and Generator to Dark Room area and install emergency shut offs. 
  • Removal of existing T-bar and replace with new. 
  • Install new lighting throughout space and include new lighting controls to provide various levels of lighting and dimming capabilities. 
  • Existing structural steel for overhead X-ray equipment to be altered on site once new Equipment Vendor is decided to allow New Equipment Installation. 
  • Lead lining shield repaired where required. 
  • BC Building Code. 
  • CSA Z8000. 
  • ASHRAE 90.1. 
  • Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) for Diagnostic Imaging.

Project Equipment:  Complete digital Radiographic System.

Out of Project Scope: 

  • General room layout to remain as-is – walls and doors will not be changed. 
  • Major HVAC equipment revisions. 
  • Medical Gas to remain. 
  • Nurse call/code blue to remain. 
  • Fire Alarm and Sprinklers to remain. 

The estimated Construction Budget is: $455,000.00

Owner's desired Substantial Completion date is December 1, 2024.
