Project Scope: The scope of this Phased Project is the replacement and expansion of FWG on the existing campus, using land currently dedicated to staff parking and the building’s emergency generator. The project will include Indigenous engagement and opportunities, climate resiliency, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and a childcare program. Phase 1 will be construction to replace the existing home, including 60 single-occupant resident rooms and all LTC support services. Phase 2 will be demolition of the vacated home and then construction of an interconnected addition with 88 single-occupant resident rooms, Adult Day Services space, and a new childcare space. It is important to note that the site has a large grade differential from east to west. Significant site grading will be required in the design and construction of the new home. The Services are expected to commence by February 2024 with Phase 1 construction expected to commence by February 2025.
