PROJECT INFORMATION

1. This project will implement a new fluid cooler system to increase the cooling capacity and reliability of the existing mechanical infrastructure at Kootenay Lake Hospital (KLH). The work will focus on supporting heat pump 2 by enhancing the system’s ability to respond to high ambient temperatures. Once complete, the upgraded system will reduce reliance of city water and improve operational resilience during warmer seasonal periods.

Key requirements to be included within this project:

  • Supply and installation of a new fluid cooler system, associated piping, pumps, electrical, and controls work.

  • Integration with existing mechanical system specifically heat pump 2.

  • Integration of the fluid cooler system into the existing Building Management System (BMS). This includes providing all necessary controls, sensors, alarms, and programming to ensure seamless communication with the BMS.

  • Commissioning of the system to confirm operational efficiency.

  • Decommissioning and safe removal of outdated or redundant equipment.

Out of Project Scope:

  • Replacement of heat pump 2 itself (only fluid cooler system is within scope). Any upgrades to unrelated HVAC systems or controls.

  • Architectural finishes and renovations outside of immediate equipment installation area.

2. The estimated construction budget for the project is $471,800.00.

3. The Contractor shall state the number of weeks required to achieve Ready for Takeover.

4.  The Contractor should provide a high level schedule from start to end of construction.
