Description: |
BKN is a medium-sized (104 bed, 5,344m²) extended care facility with onsite kitchen and laundry facilities. Commissioned in 1995, most of the facility retains its original HVAC and controls infrastructure, which are now at the end of their service life and require replacement. In collaboration with BC Hydro, IH conducted a study to explore options for replacing the outdated HVAC infrastructure with more energy-efficient alternatives, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and implementing heat recovery strategies. This study, detailed in the "BC Hydro Low Carbon Electrification Opportunity Study – R4" prepared by Stage 3 Renewables Inc., dated September 26, 2021, recommended several energy conservation measures (ECMs). The project will deliver efficiency upgrades to the boiler room by replacing two main boilers with condensing boilers and installing a heat recovery chiller. Additionally, the building automation systems and a kitchen make-up air unit will be replaced. The Construction Budget is estimated at $3,000,000.00 (Order of Magnitude). For the purposes of this procurement process, all enquiries must be made via Bids & Tenders. |
